Fantastar was launched during the summer of 2006 and is a cutting edge platform
that allows sports clubs, universities and schools to set up and run their own internal
fantasy sport leagues. Fantastar puts the power of fantasy gaming into the hands of
anyone and everyone. Why pick a dream team from a bunch of
overpaid Premiership footballers when you can pick your team from your club or
school mates?
Fantastar works with the sporting world to provide an innovative platform
that allows clubs and schools to harness the power of the online sporting community.
Fantastar's free service aims to enhance club spirit and provide a means to easily
raise money for new equipment and coaching.
Ultimately, our mission is to get more people involved in and playing sport.
Such is the flexibility of the platform, Fantastar can also host fantasy
competitions for sporting events that other fantasy websites cannot reach.
One such competition was the 2006 Men's Hockey World Cup; Fantastar being
the first website to pioneer fantasy field hockey and fantasy olympics.
Fantastar has also hosted a number of other competitions including the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup,
the 2007 Rugby World Cup, the 2008/09 Elite Ice Hockey League and the
New Zealand National Hockey League (NHL).
Since its launch Fantastar has attracted club registrations from
across the globe including the UK,
Ireland, The Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Hungary, Australia, New Zealand,
USA, Canada, South Africa and India. Fantastar also has a growing number of
school registrations from throughout the UK. The platform supports hockey,
football, rugby, cricket, ice hockey and basketball with many more sports in the pipeline
to be launched during 2008.
